چکیده

Climate change represents an undeniable threat to traditional viticulture in many areas of the world. Although increase average surface temperatures is expected future, late frost occurrences are predicted be actual challenge, being budburst critical stage during which cold hardiness levels dramatically decrease and vulnerability at its maximum. Genomic DNA methylation known as important mechanism for gene expression regulation. A sub-group epigenetic regulators named DEMETER-like demethylases (DMLs) has been shown involved budbreak regulation Populus trichocarpa . In this study, buds two Vitis cultivars, Fleurtai (Friulano × Kozma 20-3) UD 31-103 (Merlot 20-3), characterized by different resistance winter freezing temperatures, were sampled 2019/2020 season. Cold dynamics monitored with differential thermal analysis (DTA) regular intervals. Expression putative grapevine DEMETER homologs investigated natural dormancy conditions. Results show dissimilar deacclimation rates varieties. As observed other woody species, DEMETERs downregulation upregulation trends hinting a potential involvement release.

Upstream Regulatory Elements, Potential Targets and Expression Patterns of Three Drought Responsive miRNAs in Two Grapevine Cultivars

MicroRNAs (miRNAs), as a group of non-coding small RNAs, play key roles in regulating the growth, development and response of plants to various stresses. In this study, the expression patterns of three drought responsive miRNAs (miR159c, miR160a,b and miR169v) were compared in both drought tolerant (Yaghuti) and drought sensitive (Bidanesefid) grapevine cultivars using qRT-PCR under drought str...

A DEMETER-like DNA demethylase governs tomato fruit ripening.

In plants, genomic DNA methylation which contributes to development and stress responses can be actively removed by DEMETER-like DNA demethylases (DMLs). Indeed, in Arabidopsis DMLs are important for maternal imprinting and endosperm demethylation, but only a few studies demonstrate the developmental roles of active DNA demethylation conclusively in this plant. Here, we show a direct cause and ...

VESPUCCI: Exploring Patterns of Gene Expression in Grapevine

Large-scale transcriptional studies aim to decipher the dynamic cellular responses to a stimulus, like different environmental conditions. In the era of high-throughput omics biology, the most used technologies for these purposes are microarray and RNA-Seq, whose data are usually required to be deposited in public repositories upon publication. Such repositories have the enormous potential to p...

Short day transcriptomic programming during induction of dormancy in grapevine

Bud dormancy in grapevine is an adaptive strategy for the survival of drought, high and low temperatures and freeze dehydration stress that limit the range of cultivar adaptation. Therefore, development of a comprehensive understanding of the biological mechanisms involved in bud dormancy is needed to promote advances in selection and breeding, and to develop improved cultural practices for exi...
